Student are returning to schools / colleges after almost 500 days due to COVID induced restrictions. Away from social interaction, clasroom dynamics, participative learning for such a long duration of time has a strong bearing in their general behavioural response and academic capabilitiesTeachers shoud step up to address these non-academic challenges. Workshop covered various elements related to on-line teaching, off-line teaching, students accustomed to digital resources decreasing levels of concentration etc.
The present generation has a sense of urgency in day to day activities.
The present generation does not appear to be as respectful towards the teachers & institutes as the earlier generation.
Does this generation really lack respect ? Most likely the answer is NO !
The workshop addressed the changing classroom dynamics. The discussions were based on the need for the students to be heard.
The importance of body language, spoken language etc, subject specific language, role models etc. were also discussed.
The second part of the workshop dealt with language of physics. Many interesting discussion cropped up such as How to explain the students the "meaning conveyed" by a physics equation? Why is electron negative? Why is division by zero undefined? How to explain to them the ideas of differentiation, integration, trigonometry etc ...
Activities are not just for fun. Homework is not just for writing and filling up pages. Projects are not reduced to taking colour printouts. Every discussion in the clasroom need not be with the narrow vision of cracking a competitive examination. The workshop addressed the right approach to various elements of teaching to make the approaches achieve the desired outcome and explore the world of opportunities.

Digital smart boards, PPTs, PDFs, Videos, Animations, Simulations, VR sets... Whatsapp groups, groups in social networking sites, AI assistant... Online assignments, online submissions, online tests, online assessment... The workshop addressed the need to make use of digital resources to maximize the academic outcome while minimizing possible distractions and potentially harmful behavioural outcomes in students.
